The Tools for Kids Preschool program implements aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach and Flight – Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework. These approaches are child-centered and not only acknowledge the uniqueness and complexity of each child, but encourages, utilizes and rewards the child as an integral part of the learning process. Although some themes may be introduced, the curriculum is mainly child-guided and uses child-directed, experiential learning in a relationship-driven environment. Child-led play, exploration, curiosity and experimentation are at the heart of the program. Craft activities are open-ended and children are encouraged to make their own creations with the materials provided or materials of their choice. Structured times such as circle time, are short and developmentally appropriate and provide opportunity for children to share their interests and experiences as well as being exposed to literacy.
Tools for Kids Preschool recognizes that a child’s emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs must be met in a safe, challenging, creative, and nurturing environment.
Tools for Kids Preschool will provide your child with a foundation of tools for a lifetime of learning by offering a developmentally appropriate program which is fully inclusive.
